Our community is at the centre of everything we do. In fact, one of our values is 'community-led'. We're committed to enabling the local community to suggest, plan and carry out activities and initiatives to improve their lives.
To this end, we're currently setting up a Residents Panel to help us make sure that LCH is driven by local voices. See below for further details.
We'll also soon be surveying the local community to find out what their main concerns and needs are so we can help to address them.
The LCH Residents Panel is a group of local residents who meet a few times a year to share ideas, experiences and feedback to help shape what LCH does and how it grows.
This is about making sure local voices are part of what feeds into LCH, and to make sure that we live our value to be ‘community led’.
If you are interested in being part of this, please fill in this form, click on the button below or call into the café.
What being a panel member means
As a panel member, you agree to:
Share your perspective as someone who lives in North Leatherhead.
Listen to others with respect.
Offer honest and constructive feedback.
Keep conversations confidential where needed.
Attend meetings where you can (around four to six per year).
You don’t need specific skills or experience. We value your lived experience and willingness to take part.
What you can expect from LCH
We will:
Listen carefully to what the panel says.
Be clear about how your feedback is used.
Provide support and training if helpful.
Cover reasonable pre-agreed expenses.
Facilitate a welcoming and inclusive space.
The panel is advisory and therefore the Trustees and the Management Team will make final decisions, but your voice will feed into and help shape those decisions.
The practical bits
This is a voluntary role.
We ask for a 12-month initial commitment.
Only open to residents of North Leatherhead aged 16 and over.
You can step down at any time.
We'd love the panel to reflect the diversity of our community - different ages, backgrounds and lived experiences are all welcome.
This is simply an opportunity to help keep LCH community-led and connected to the people it serves.
